SIMPLE FISH CURRY | मचिलि का सालन | مچھلى کا سالن | Deccan’s Pakwan

Ingredients

  1. Fish (pieces) : 500 g
  2. Tomato : 3
  3. Onion : 1
  4. Green chili : 3
  5. Red Chili Powder : 1 tsp
  6. Coriander powder : 1 tsp
  7. Turmeric : 2 tsp
  8. Pink salt : 1.5 tsp
  9. Ginger & Garlic : 1 tsp
  10. Oil : 4 tbsp
  11. Tamrind Pulp : 2 tsp
  12. Zeera Powder : 1 tsp
  13. Kashmiri Chili Powder : 1 tsp
  14. Garam Masala Powder : ½ tsp
  15. Curry Leaves : 7-8
  16. Kasuri Methi :1 tsp

Process

  1. Marinate the fish pieces with salt, turmeric powder & red chilli powder. Mix well & set aside for around 30 mins.
    2.Make a paste of the onions, tomatoes and green chillies
  2. Heat oil in a pan for shallow frying and add the marinated fish pieces side by side.
  3. Fry the fish pieces on medium heat for 3 mins on each side till slightly browned. Remove and set aside on a plate.
  4. Now take another kadhai and heat oil. Add the Ginger & garlic paste saute for a min then add Kashmiri chili powder
  5. Now add the onion-tomato paste, give a mix and fry on high to medium heat for 20 mins till the paste is fried & reduced and oil separates.
  6. Now add the Turmeric , zeera powder , coriander powder and salt, give a mix and continue to fry on medium to low heat for 5-6 mins till the masala is cooked & add tamrind pulp cook till oil separates.
  7. Add 400 ml water, give a mix and add curry leaves ,garam masla powder& then fried fish pieces. Cover and cook on low heat for 10 mins till oil separates.
    9.Remove the lid and add the roasted & powdered Kasuri Methi (fenugreek leaves). Give a mix and simmer for around 2-3 mins.
    Fish cuury is ready to serve with Rice!
